Park’s Square, People’s Square, Liberty’s Square and Diakos’ Square
Although it is uncommon for the cities of Greece, Lamia has 4 squares in its center, in a very close distance to each other: Park’s Square, People’s Square, Liberty’s Square and Diakos’ Square. The city life is revolved around them and each one is a special meeting point. People’s Square, with the statue of Aris Velouchiotis in the middle, has all the popular taverns for which Lamia is famous. The busy Liberty’s Square is where most of the cafes and bars are located. Diakos’ Square is a small square, which has the statue of the warrior Athanasios Diakos in the middle, as well as neoclassical buildings in which a lot of cafes and bars are located. Park’s Square is a modern square, with lots of public services and banks around it.
